Claudia Mendoza

Claudia Mendoza grew up in a Seattle ranch house with creaky floorboards and the best little window seat for watching the rain. Gloomy weather meant a childhood spent indoors baking, painting, and upstaging her parrot, Polly Nesia, when it came to voice lessons. Early on, her mother gave her one brutally honest, life changing piece of advice: “Your writing voice is far more beautiful than your singing one,”  for which she is eternally grateful. Today, Claudia still sings in the shower but writes for a living.
