About Me

I like daydreaming, kids' artworks, and long walks along the aisles of Trader Joe's.

My Kids

I have a girl (8) and a boy (6)!

This happened to my son, who used to LOVE going to school, and out of nowhere started having meltdowns. Turned out he was being bullied – and it took him a while to open up to us and tell us exactly what was happening. The teachers didn't tell me anything before this and they knew, but they wanted to be hands-off. Pulled him out immediately. Talk to your daughter!

We live right by the school, so we try to walk as much as possible. I just recently started driving... and let's just say walking REALLY kept me fit and I hope to get back to it ;)

Wait til they're a year old.. only breastmilk and formula before that. MAYBE a bit of water on super hot days, but again, milk is much better at that stage!

We have the metal one from IKEA. Modern, sturdy, and very affordable (although we did have to buy a thin mattress for the top bunk - we thought a regular one was too high). Highly recommend it... But one thing.. like all IKEA products, it was a pain in the @$$ to build!

It's extremely crowded every time we visit... and some of the exhibits look pretty dingy... but it's still a blast for the kids. Free, but you have to pay for special exhibits (worth it!) and the IMAX movies (sort of worth it).

THE. BEST. MUSEUM. EVER. I'm really horrible with describing things.. so let's just say if Zeus were to live on Earth, it would be in this stunning villa, exactly the way it is. I want to describe all the gardens and pools and hallways and murals and even the incredible little cafe they have.. but I wouldn't do them justice. Just visit. It's free – all you need to do is book your tickets the same morning. The kids will have a blast running around the place and drawing on pots (AT THE KIDS' SECTION, not the ones that are a zillion years old on display) while you pretend to be a fancy person overlooking your garden and smirking. GO.

This is one museum we love to visit often because 1. It's so close to the valley 2. It's F-R-E-E. You just need to pay for parking. Other than the (obviously) beautiful art, we also adore the architecture and gardens. Perfect place to spend an afternoon. The tram is fun too :)

My kids can't get enough of this place. Love the climbing structure and the ant tunnel inside, love the trike path and water features outside (although they might have cut back on a lot of those because of the drought..) Great for toddlers - young kids!

My kids LOVE this place.. We've been here about 10 times. Medieval Times is a place to have dinner + watch a show. To be specific, a meal to be eaten with your bare hands, and a battle with knights and horses. Medieval times, indeed. Make sure to check out coupons online before buying your ticket. They ALWAYS have a bunch throughout the year. And dress up! (Also, if you're like me and allergic to animals and dust.. bring Claritin)

Gigantic frittatas with ham/bacon/mushrooms/spinach and TONS of cheese. Always better when heated up the next day anyway. Personally, I love sweet breakfasts.... so parfaits in individual glasses. Layer on the greek yogurt, chia seeds, fruits, and granola. Pretty, healthy, and delicious!

Tired of bland roasted chicken + veg + rice every night. Any (SIMPLE) weeknight dinner ideas?
