Korean-born Maggie Lin was raised in San Diego, CA where grunion runs both thrilled and scared her as a child. Today, she’d take a lobster roll over a fried bait any day, and cocktails at the bar over an evening spent searching for mating fish. Raised in a traditional household where “children should be seen but not heard,” she was taught to respect her elders. But listening in on their gossip gave her a far more interesting perspective.
A childhood spent eavesdropping taught her to find the funny in everything. She can often be found at local cafes, listening in on nearby conversations and laughing coffee through her nose.
