Gorgeous Kid's Desks That Combine Form & Function

Homework doesn’t have to be humdrum thanks to these neato nooks – whether your kiddos have just a few i's to dot or if they have to write whole book reports, these desks are sure to fill the bill for comfort and design. We love how the following designer desks take into account not just the luxe looks, but they consider your kid’s comfort too.

Oeuf: Brooklyn Desk

The Brooklyn desk offers an urban take on your child’s homework space. With its adjustable height and versatile design, it can be endlessly adapted; the desk height accommodates growing children, and goes up to adult height. Slim, rounded legs and removable/movable storage boxes create a simple, chic scheme.

Jungle by Jungle: My Little Pupitre

Here’s a new take on the old school-desk design. These designer desks are made in France using sustainable woods. It flawless form combines design and functionality. We like its foldable tray to store books and paper, and its smooth groove for pencils so they don’t roll away.

Les Gambettes: Vera Desk

This slim, sleek, colorful desk comes in a variety of tabletop shades perched on narrow but sturdy tubular white legs. Les Gambettes makes new-but-retro designed furniture: Their chairs, tables, desk and design accessories mix metal, wood and of course, the most popular surface from the 50s, Formica.

Ferm Living: Little Architect Desk

This no-nonsense desk is made with your kids comfort in mind as its simple, contemporary design is at children's level and is truly the perfect base for little ones to uncrate their creativity. The Little Architect Desk is crafted from ash veneer and comes in subtle colors. Choose a uniform palette or mix-and-match for a playful look that sparks the imagination.

Nobodinoz: Desk Horizon

Crisp monotones contrasted with a soft, cushy for the tushy, make this work-space a place to look forward to. You can force focus by facing the wall as shown here, or sit the desk in front of a picture window. While everything you see here is possible, the star of the show is this elegant and minimalist desk with a retro design, made in Spain.

Don’t like the Moonlight White? No prob: The desk is available in five different colors, using non-toxic water-based pigments and varnish.

Charlie Crane: Baki Wall Desk

No floor space? No problem! You'll want a folding wall desk like the Charlie Crane Baki. It comes with built-in shelves and a magnetic backboard – perfect for personalizing with important notes and BFF photos. (Just no crushes, please! We don't want to distract from our studies.)

It's part modern, part retro, and unlike any desk we've seen before. For the ultimate combo, pair it with the modular TIBU high chair. (Pictured)

IKEA: Flisat

Kindergarteners get homework too, okay? They write their alphabet and numbers neatly and facing the correct way... Draw anatomically correct humans with TORSOS... Color within the lines... It's a lot of hard work! And a serious kiddo needs a serious desk, like the IKEA Flisat.

This desk can be adjusted to 3 different heights, comes with a tilting table top with a paper roll holder (for your future artist/architect), and has a groove on the edge so pens and small things don't roll down. For extra storage, Trofast storage baskets sit perfectly on the slats underneath.

Rafa Kids: K Desk

The Rafa Kids K Desk is a work of art. You'll see no screws, no connectors... Just a sleek and minimalist piece of furniture.

The desk can be used in two positions: Leave the top closed and you have a perfectly smooth surface to do homework on. Open it up, and you have the perfect hidden compartment for notebooks, an iPad, and secret treasures. The lid has hidden dampers for a soft close and  to prevent fingers from getting caught.

Pair this with the sturdy X stool for a matching look.

P'kolino: Modern Desk

We're huge fans of Miami-based P'kolino, a brand that's all about playful style and smart functionality.

If you want something your kid will enjoy now and be able to use well into the teen years, check out their Modern Desk. This table has a ton of legroom and workspace, and the 2-layer structure provides a plenty of storage. (Note the contrasting dividers for extra organization!) Grab the desk chair too, while you're at it.
