Reading aloud to baby

How long do you / did you read to your 1.5 year olds? Also any good book recommendations for that age?

Amy Mori
I did a minimum of 4 books daily. My daughter loved Goodnight Songs, Where the Wild Things Are, Oh The Places You'll Go, Mr. Brown Can Moo, Little Blue Truck, and Hug. She also loved all those touch and feel books and lift a flaps.

We read an hour daily. The classics are always a good place to start - Goodnight Moon, The Hungry Caterpillar, Little Critters collection, Guess How Much I Love you, the simpler Dr. Seuss books like Hop on Pop, Put Me in the Zoo. There are lots of cute never books too - Looking for a Moose, Pout Pout Fish. I think anything with rhymes is really good. Also all those books that are meant to introduce the farm, things around the home etc. They're not really story books but fun to look at too.

About 30 min per day. We loved Goodnight Moon, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Chicken Soup with Rice, Corduroy even though it's super creepy, Dear Zoo and practically all other lift a flap books, Goodnight Gorilla, The Snowy Day and Whistle for Willie, Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See, We're Going on a Bear Hunt and so many more

My boys both loved books as babies. I read 1-2 hours to them daily (broken up throughout the day). Some of their favorites at that age were: Little Blue Truck, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear Brown Bear, Apple Pear Orange Bear, Good Dog Carl (no words but I would narrate) and they always loved anything by Richard Scarry because there's so much to pore over.
