Maternity Wear You’ll Want to Keep Long After Pregnancy

The days of ugly, baggy maternity wear are long gone, thanks to celebs and fashion bloggers who are proudly showing off their baby bumps. These haute mamas wear everything from pencil skirts, to horizontal striped tank tops, to color-block mini dresses. And so can you. Just because you’re in the “family way” doesn’t mean you have to be in the frumpy way. Preggo threads just keep getting better and better – in fact, some styles are so cute and trendy, you’ll want to wear them after baby is here.

There are lots of fun ways to show off your curves when you’re expecting, but we found three trend-setting labels we really love:

Hatch Collection

Ariane Goldman, the founder of Hatch, says, “Your style should be your companion through it all... effortless through everything: before, during and after.” Their easy, breezy, softly flowing frocks and adaptable designs, deliver on that premise for sure. From cloaks to shorts, and even overalls for those who want to make a statement, to romantic summer dresses – you will be able to find just about anything you want in this line (including accessories, like their “anti” diaper bag made of premium leather). Their cashmere jumper and their swing coat – to name just two out of dozens of must-haves – are sure to be wardrobe staples for years to come.

Storq

Storq offers stylish essentials for pregnancy, nursing, and parenthood. Their line is meant to be chic, comfortable, and convenient – they offer a “Basics Bundle” which includes four luxe essentials to get you through all nine months, pre-packed for an all-around painless shopping experience. Each essential can be worn in various ways for mix and match panache. What’s more, they prefer soft and breathable fabrics, using eco-friendly or natural fibers. Even though these clothes are pretty enough to wear anytime, if you want to recycle some outfits, the folks at Storq made it super-simple to do so: they’re partnered with 2ReWear to help you recycle anything you don’t want to keep.

Elizabeth Suzann

Though not purpose-made for maternity, Elizabeth Suzann's collection is roomy, elegant, and a definite must-have. Focused on keeping  collections small and mindful, they cut and sew all of their garments in their Nashville design studio using only the highest quality, natural fiber cloth that’s meant to get softer and softer as you wear it. Materials used include silk, linen, cotton, wool, and alpaca. Founder Liz strives to keep things casual and personal (she admits to her Nicolas Cage crush, and cops to drinking an ice-cold soda every morning on the “About Me” section). She is intent on making sure her models are diverse as can be (the ladies on the website are actual ES customers, and the photos you see are “actual size”).
