A Retro Outer Space Birthday for Kids Who Shoot for the Stars

Outer space is truly fascinating. There’re just so many things to explore in the vast universe – planets, asteroids, stars, galaxies, nebulae, black holes, aliens…For many kids, space travel would be a dream come true. If you’ve got a budding astronaut on your hands, she'll absolutely love Lauren's Take Me to The Moon” Party planned by mom Felicity of Little Paper Plate Events

Think an outer space bash is only for boys? Birthday gal Lauren’s perfectly girly party has plenty of celestial elements within a very feminine color palette. Pink, silver, and black work together in a very pretty combination that suits the theme. Monochromatic elements such the cardboard rocket and sliver foil balloons to allow the pink to pop, without it being overwhelming.

Not only is the color scheme is on point, but everything looks so hip and dreamy.

Loving all the pretty silver accents – those cake toppers are just darling. The dessert table was set against a backdrop of a grey cardboard moon with sliver glitter and paper stars made by mom. The children enjoyed my handmade ‘moon dust’ cupcakes, 'moon' fondant biscuits, Herseys kisses aka 'moon rocks'  and star sandwiches.

While the kids munched on their adorable treats, their parents grazed on homemade sandwiches and cheese platters. A moon shaped piñata kept the children entertained, keeping in line with the theme.

Silver wands for the little ladies so they can wish for more advances in space travel within the next few years...

And a very special visit from Princess Leia, because what little space girl doesn't want to be her?!
