Rainbow Themed Birthdays, When a Single Color Won't Do

So you want to throw your kiddo a themed bash. You probably think that choosing a color scheme – no, a single color – would simplify things and tie everything together.

Wrong! You’d be totally limiting yourself, and you’ll be in a world of trouble once you start searching for specific things like silver drinks, or black desserts… Besides, if you know anything about kids, it’s that their favorites change every minute. Plan an all-blue celebration now, and come party time, they’re all about orange and they HATE EVERYTHING.

Solution: Rainbow Parties. All the colors – that’s what kids truly want.

Not only does birthday girl Kate love rainbows – she’s also wild about hearts! So for her sixth birthday, her mom Kim, founder of The TomKat Studio, threw her a Rainbow Heart Party. It was choc full of fun and whimsical details!

Hubba hubba, check out this cake. Not a heart looks out of place! Loving the darling cake pops as well.

Pool party + balloons = A winning combination.

Jillian from 100 Layer Cakelet put together this bright and happy Modern Rainbow Party for her son's 5th birthday. The gorgeous cake was a splurge and  totally worth it. Decorated with the number 5 in rainbow sprinkles and topped with a rainbow arc, it's definitely a sight to see!

The party was held in a photo studio where the stark white space really put the bright rainbow colors front and center. Colorful balloons, garland, and table settings was all that was needed to set a festive mood.

Rainbow jello cups flanked the birthday cake for some extra sweetness.

And the rainbow sprinkled cupcakes were an extra treat.

Happy Wish Company styled this cheery Over the Rainbow birthday party. We love the bright pops of color against the white space. Colorful balloons line the floor while a rainbow balloon arch floats above the dessert table.

Paper goods were bright and cheery, perfectly complementing the rainbow magic. Sweet treats from colorful gumdrops to candy sticks were on hand. Fluffy white frosted cupcakes were dressed in a rainbow of polka-dotted wrappers.

Loving these pastel rainbow cookies that look way too cute to eat!

Pompom topped party hats were on hand for kids to decorate and wear.
